Come and discover the authenticity of farm life 🐄

During a walk around the farm you can see the cows and calves of the farm. You can also participate in harvesting vegetables from the garden and fruits from the orchard depending on the season. Children will love learning where food comes from, understanding the cycles of nature and adults rediscovering certain memories from their childhood.

“Les Hautins”: the name of the farm comes from the place called “les Hautins”

What does Hautins mean? The cultivation of vines in Hautains (Hautins) has been known since antiquity. The vine is married to the trees which serve as its posts and allow it to flourish. This cultivation technique was widespread in the Pyrenean foothills until the successive attacks of phylloxera and Powdery mildew in the second half of the 19th century. Around Tarbes this method of cultivation dominated until 150 years ago.

On certain plots of the farm there are still a few rows of maple trees, vestiges of this practice.

History: Family farm for several generations (1839)

Until the 1960s there were livestock, mixed crops, apples, vines and poultry on the farm.

Subsequently, the farm specialized in the activity of calves under the mother, the flagship production of Comminges.

In the 2010s, Jean-François left Parisian life to return to his roots and take over the family farm.

Today, the farm operates an extensive suckler herd in organic farming and is diversifying into agritourism.
